About me

I’ll start with a bit about me. I’m a ‘type two fun’ kind of person. I have always been my happiest outdoors and in new countries, planning through the worst and most brag-worthy adventures. Specifically, I enjoy long-distance hiking, cycling, and fast travel. However, I will also jump on any opportunity that sounds like it would be a good story to tell later. Naturally, this has gotten me into interesting disasters.

So this is why I have created my blog: to write about my stories, my favorite travel memories, to create fast and detailed itineraries of the places I’ve been and the interesting things to do there! I have also collected an abundance of tips for active explorers and those interested in this lifestyle.

Who am I?

I’m just a girl. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Toronto, Canada.

For years now, I have been working toward what I thought was my dream goal—a stable career in a fancy office (basic, I know). In 2022 I achieved that, and I even got my own apartment in the city. It was a huge step toward my big adulting life, and although it was good, it didn’t feel right. I had amazing friends, family close by, good income and a promising career, but something was still missing. I then took the dramatic route and quit my job, moved back home, and bought a one-way ticket out of Canada.

I’m on a new mission now to see as much of the world as I can, and I have recently made it a top priority to become rich in experiences rather than money. My #1 goal is to hike across a continent and share my adventures with like-minded people. Leading up to this big goal, I hope to partake in as many thrilling and adrenaline-filled activities as I can.

What is in my Blog

I’ll be writing about my travel experiences, reviewing tours I have joined, and trying to include my findings along the way. Since I’m jobless, I’m also writing about my budget adventure and travel as a whole on little income. I hope that Shannon’s Landing can give others the confidence and excitement to experience the world a little more every year through fun stories, easy tips, and thorough itineraries. Cheers!
